UNA-NYC and USA for UN High Commissioner for Refugees Complete Five Water Points in the Central Region of Afghanistan

With donation from the October 2007 UNA-NYC Humanitarian Award Dinner, four water points in Danishmand village of Shakardara, Afghanistan have been completed. The fifth one in Intefat village is also complete. All the water points are equipped with hand pumps and operational. Shown below are images of the water points.

Progress is also being made in the east region, and we will have these images as soon as the water points are operational. To learn more about the project, please review the proposal, Safe Water in Afghanistan, by UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
