UNA Film Festival Mesmerized Young Members from UNA-NY YPIC and the Young Professionals of New York City
Documentary films discussing the oppression of women in Afghanistan, the betrayal of the Iranian revolution, foreign policy of the US, the United Nations and how it shapes our every day life, and the story of famous photographer Robert Capa were all center stage Friday night at the UNA Film Festival at the New York Film Academy organized by the United Nations Association of New York (UNA-NY), together with the Young Professional for International Cooperation (YPIC) and the Young Professionals of New York City.
Ambassador William Luers, President of UNA-USA, opened the evening with words of welcome together with Jasmina Bojic, the founder of the UNA Film Festival. Ann Makepeace, (Director of "Robert Capa in Love and War") was present, as well as young professionals and students from different backgrounds. With an intermission, where people had a chance to mingle and share their thoughts over a glass of wine, the evening went from 6-11pm. It was a big success and stands at the beginning of many active programs and festivals to come for YPIC, which is part of UNA-NY.
