UNA-USA Salutes Our Summer Scholars 2022 Fellowship Winners

The United Nations Association of New York salutes our Summer Scholars 2022 fellowship winners: Gadha Raj, Sreenidhi Rao, Kutso Segoda and Mackenzie Stoeltje. We offer them our warm congratulations and wish them all the best during their time abroad!

The selection process for our Summer Scholars program was made this spring, and for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic has eased, the students are now scheduled to depart for their respective countries during the summer of 2022.

The Summer Scholars fellowships are funded by UNA-NYC for the purpose of enabling students in graduate degree programs to experience work abroad with the United Nations or its agencies, as well as non-governmental organizations. Since the inception of the program in 2015, we pride ourselves in having awarded full scholarships to over two dozen graduate students.

The program's mission is to enrich and foster direct knowledge and understanding of both UN and international organizations. This year, our Summer Scholars will be stationed at various UNDP offices around the globe, including Istanbul, Maldives, Mongolia, and Timor-Leste, where their involvement will provide a direct appreciation of working on behalf of the UNDP.

UNA-NYC gratefully acknowledges the support of SAP and its former Chief Executive Officer Bill McDermott, our 2018 Humanitarian of the Year award winner, for their financial support of the UNA-NYC Summer Scholars Program.
