UNA-NYC Co-Sponsors Two Panels on Women and Diversity Partnerships
On March 3, the United Nations Association of New York co-sponsored two parallel panel discussions, as part of the 55th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women, held this year by the UN from February 22 to March 4.
The first panel, Women in Technology: The Past, Present, and Strategies for the Future, covered the priority theme of the conference — the access and participation of women and girls in education, training, science and technology, including the promotion of women's equal access to full employment and decent work.
This was followed after a short break by a second panel, Diversity and Inclusion: Strengthening Partnerships Between the Business Sector and NGOs. The goal of this panel discussion was to present model practices, trends and collaborative efforts by the business sector and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) — to promote diversity and inclusion; to present certain challenges and how these could be solved moving forward; and to emphasize both the distinct and collaborative roles each plays in the promotion of global diversity and inclusion.
These events were organized by the Foundation for the Support of the United Nations (FSUN) and are co-sponsored by UNA-NYC; World Diversity Leadership Summit (WDLS) and Hitachi Data Systems.
Registration was free and open to the public.
