What New York City is Doing
Traffic safety funding
The Adams Administration will significantly increase funds for road and traffic safety, aiming to cut traffic violence and build a greener city. For more information about the city’s goals see the NYC Street Plan.
Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health
This new office aims to promote the mental wellbeing of all New Yorkers and coordinates the NYC government’s approach to mental health, works with a variety of agencies and organizations to close existing gaps in the mental health care system.
Overdose Prevention Center (OPC)
The DeBlasio Administration declared that the United States’ first OPC, supervised consumption sites which ensure people who use drugs have access to medical care, will be located in the city.
Feminine Hygiene Products Access Laws
The city has a variety of local laws (including Int 1122-2016, Int 1123-2016, and Int 1128-2016) intended to increase access to vital feminine hygiene products for student, shelter residents, and inmates in the city.
