Ann Nicol, a former Board member of UNA-NYC, has served as Executive Director since 2003.

Her interests and career reflect a long commitment to the United Nations and to international relations. She started her career at the United States Mission to the United Nations as staff assistant and advisor to Ambassadors Andrew Young and later, Don McHenry where she was recognized by the US State Department for Outstanding Performance of Official Duties.

Born in Hungary, where she had her early education, she moved to the United States and received a Bachelor of Arts degree (summa cum laude) from the University of Detroit. She also holds a Master’s of International Affairs degree from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs. She has lived and worked in Trinidad and Tobago and the UK, studied intercultural relations and managed a business protocol consultancy with Fortune 500 clients.

Ann has served on the UN NGO/DPI Executive Committee where she was chair of the Fundraising Committee and she currently serves on the boards of the New York Consular Club and the UNA-USA Southern New York State Division.
