Professor Tai-Heng Cheng will analyze the current state of affairs of Iran by drawing on a fact-finding mission in 2006. He will discuss the diversity of viewpoints among Iranians concerning the United States, Israel, the Iranian government and clergy. Professor Cheng will also appraise whether current US-Iranian relations actually benefit Americans and Iranians alike, and whether the foreign policies in both countries are distorted by interest groups. He will suggest proposals for adjusting US-Iranian relations to benefit the peoples of both states.

PROFESSOR TAI-HENG CHENG

Professor Cheng is Associate Director of the Center for International Law at New York Law School, and Of Counsel to the law firm of Hoguet Newman Regal & Kenney, LLP. He has counseled litigants in the Dahbol arbitrations concerning the largest foreign investment in the Republic of India. He has also advised the Singapore Police Force and Prosecutor-General of the United Nations Transitional Administration in East Timor. Professor Cheng is and has been a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution, United Nations, and the International Law Committees of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He holds a Doctor of the Science of Law degree and a Master of Laws degree from Yale Law School. He also holds a Master of Arts degree and a law degree with first class honors (double distinction) from Oxford University
