One of the ancient dance drama called the 'Makyong is a comprehensive theatre act combining acting, singing, dance, opera, drama and comedy. The dialogue composes of scripted and improvised text. The cast of more than a dozen performers is backed by a traditional music ensemble of gongs, drum and the rebab. Makyong is unique, ethnic and distinct from the western concept of theatre.

There will be a variety of traditional dances being performed which basically contributes to the multi-cultural and multi-ethnic character of Malaysia. They are called Tarian Asyik, Inang, Joget, Zapin, Bharata Natyam Indian dance and the Xin Jiang Chinese dance.
