Ambassador Ellen Margrethe Løj will talk about Denmark’s experience in serving two years in the UN Security Council as an elected member.

AMBASSADOR ELLEN MARGRETHE LØJ
Ambassador Ellen Margrethe Løj returned to New York as Permanent Representative of Denmark in 2001, twenty years after she had served as First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Denmark between 1977 and 1980.
Prior to this, Ambassador Løj had a distinguished tenure as State Secretary of the South Group in Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The South Group is responsible for Denmark’s relations with countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and some of the Pacific region. She served as Denmark’s Ambassador to Israel from 1989 to 1992.
In addition to her diplomatic appointments, Ms. Løj has also been on the supervisory board of the Danish-German ferry company Scandlines since 1998 and a member of the advisory boards of the Industrialization Fund for Developing Countries and the Investment Fund for Central and Eastern Europe.
