Join us to experience the island of Cyprus — an island Republic at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa. Cyprus is a member of the EU since 2004 and has one of the strongest economies in all of Europe.

The island's history that dates back 11,000 years is one of the oldest in the world and has bequeathed on the small island an enormously rich cultural heritage. Throughout the centuries, Cyprus had many conquerors, each leaving an idelible footprint.

Today Cyprus seamlessly blends ancient history, modern infrastructure and a contemporary lifestyle, all of which will be explored by Koula Sophianou, the Consul General of Cyprus to New York. Her presentation will be followed by an opportunity for questions and conversation, as well as a reception where some delicious Cypriot cuisine can be enjoyed.
