Gender Gaps and Womens Empowerment

Women still do not get paid as much as men. The glass ceiling is still largely impenetrable in the world's largest corporations. The media remains a male dominated industry that reinforces gender stereotypes. Most female government ministers worldwide are assigned portfolios related to social issues.

Join us for an exciting event on women's equality and empowerment questions with the expert from the European Commission, Ambassador Mara Marinaki, who will be in New York for the Commission on the Status of Women held at the United Nations.

The lecture will be followed by Q&A and a discussion. Here is a good read to prepare for this event: The World's Women 2015: UN Trends and Statistics.

Please join us following the lecture for a light luncheon. And — let us know if you intend to stay for lunch when you sign up, as there is a 50 person limit for attendance at this event.

UNA-NYC is thankful to the Austrian Consulate for their generous hospitality.
