Support the UN’s Humanitarian Efforts in Ukraine

According to the UN Refugee Agency (UNCHR), more than half a million Ukrainians have already fled their country in the wake of Russia’s devastating invasion last week. Hundreds more who could not leave, including children, have been injured or killed.

The values of the United Nations, which has always stood for peace and multilateralism, have rarely been more important—and more threatened. Across the world, thousands of people continue to take to the streets, calling for an end to the war.

Today, for the first time, Ukrainian and Russian delegations met for high-level negotiations, supported by the UN. But until peace is reached, the people of Ukraine remain in dire need of humanitarian assistance.

“War is not the answer. It is death, human suffering, senseless destruction and an immense distraction from the real challenges facing humanity. The climate crisis and biodiversity loss; vitally needed socio-economic recovery from the pandemic; healing the divides of race and gender; and so many other pressing 21st century challenges. Humanity cannot afford to be locked in a mindset that dredges up the worst of past centuries,” UN Secretary-General António Guterres said in a statement today during an Emergency Special Session of the General Assembly.

The UN is leading humanitarian efforts in Ukraine and in neighboring countries taking in Ukrainian refugees. Please consider donating to support these lifesaving efforts via the links below.
