Ms. Snyder's presentation will focus on recent events and activities in National Security and Intelligence, such as the NSA warrantless wiretapping story, concern for privacy in the digital age and the confluence of popular culture and media on the public's perception of US policy regarding topics such as torture. Her presentation will seek to inform, demystify and demythify issues regarding intelligence activities, the role of the press and impact on society. Historic examples as well as current events will serve to illustrate key points, such as the tension between national security and civil liberties, especially in times of national crises.
