Syria's Disappeared: The Case Against Assad is a critically acclaimed documentary film that takes you inside the criminal investigation and case being built against President Assad for alleged mass atrocities committed in Syrian detention centers.

Filmmakers Sara Afshar and Nicola Cutcher spent two years interviewing survivors of Syrian detention centers, as well as tracking the work of the Commission for International Justice and Accountability (CIJA), an independent group of legal experts that holds and analyzes hundreds of thousands of files smuggled out of Syria at a secret location in Europe.

Through personal testimonies and unprecedented access to never-before-filmed regime documents, the film tells the story of the survivors of torture, the families of the dead and missing, and regime defectors risking their lives to expose the truth: the torture and murder of civilians on an industrial scale.

The Times gave the film a five star review, calling it a brilliant and superbly constructed documentary. The Observer said it provided devastating, vital viewing, offering a program full of haunting details. (Note: This film is not suitable for younger viewers. It features distressing images of death, torture and atrocities.)

Please join us for this screening which will be followed by a Q&A with the film's director and producer, Sara Afshar.
