International humanitarian-minded New Yorkers are invited to celebrate the United Nations Association of New York's first Summer Soirée in The Yard lounge at the SoHo Grand Hotel on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. This free event is open to existing UNA-NYC members, as well as all persons interested in joining.
As the host chapter to the United Nations Association, UNA-NYC is dedicated to raising public awareness of the UN and its work, as well as to promote the general goals of the UN. As such, the July event is intended as a fun and sophisticated networking/social affair for all new and prospective members to meet ones who have already been around the UNA-NYC tableau for a while. This urbane "mixer" will take place in The Yard, an outdoor urban oasis at the SoHo Grand Hotel. Existing UNA-NYC members are encouraged to bring a friend.
"We are delighted to be able to bring together this group of exciting, young individuals who are interested in advancing the conversations surrounding the critical issues that confront the UN international community," says UNA-NYC Executive Director, Ann Nicol. "We want our newer members to feel they are part of a bigger global picture by creating a venue for them to meet people with the same interests."
The evening's festivities at The Yard will begin with complimentary hors d'oeuvres sponsored by UNA-NYC and Smile Boutique Dental. Guests may order warm weather favorites such as mojitos, margaritas, and white and red sangria at the cash bar, and plate selections at The Yard Grill. SoHo Grand's DJ Tennessee Thomas will be on hand to spin tunes and set the party mood. Silent auction prizes featuring items donated by Coach, Destiny Day Spa, the Mama Necklace, Smile Boutique Dental, and Zubi Rosner, LLP will also be awarded.

Now she is a regular DJ on the NYC nightlife circuit, and plays a bountiful mix of 50?s and 60?s jumpin' & jivin' tunes that always gets the dance floor heaving.
